About Geraldine:

Geraldine Santiago is an exclusive buyer's agent specializing in both first-time home-buyers and investors. She is a seminar leader and has produced highly successful seminars for first-time home buyers in many community centres throughout the lower mainland including the Roundhouse Community Centre, False Creek Community Centre, Douglas Park Community Centre, Riley Park Community Centre, Marpole-Oakridge Community Centre, Renfrew Community Centre, East Hastings Community Centre, Mount Pleasant Community Centre and Trout Lake Community Centre and various public libraries as well such as the Richmond Public Libraries and Vancouver Public library.

Author of the "Complete Home-Buyer's Guide for Canadians", 2003 Self-Counsel Press Ltd. publisher, on the bestseller list, it addresses the needs of today's buyers, addressing issues and concerns such as closing costs to the buyer, home owner's grants, and tax exemptions for first-time home buyers. Santiago is also featured as a first time home buyer expert in real estate guru, Ozzie Jurock's real estate website--www.jurock.com. As a feature expert, she is dedicated to helping first time home buyers with their questions related to purchasing.

"At the time I bought my first home, I was not a realtor", says Santiago. "I found the entire house buying process difficult because I didn't know what questions to ask, where to look and what documents to review and sign. I felt both intimidated and at the same time, frustrated. I depended solely on my realtor to give me advice, but I wished that I knew a little bit more about the buying process to give me the confidence in my own choices and decisions. By being active in the community, by way of my seminars, my on-line Q&A assistance or by way of my book, my mission is to help first-time home buyers purchase their first home with ease."

Santiago's latest book, "Selling Your Home in Canada" 2005 Self-Counsel Press Ltd. publisher provides information for DIY'ers who want to find out about what it takes to sell their home, including marketing techniques, dealing with legal issues, and the pros and cons of using an agent.

Awarded the Envoy Certification designation by Vice President of Networking Development, Mr. Gordon M. Gerrie, the elite designation is earned by fewer than 1% of all real estate agents in Canada.

Santiago is also a member of the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver, Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA)and Greater Vancouver Home Builders Association (GVHBA) where she sits in the Education and Training committee.
